• Music is our soul food here at MISSY SKINS and an endless source of inspiration for our collections. We have so much love and admiration for the ladies fearlessly doing their thang in the music world, so we wanted to introduce a new series entitled MUSIC MUSE, where we spotlight babes that are making waves in the music industry and share some of their music with you, with hope to inspire.

Peggy Gou is a South Korean-born DJ that’s on the rise in the international techno scene. Having moved to London at age 14, she was first exposed to house music and mainly played deep house. Relocating to Berlin after graduating with a fashion degree and having worked as an editor at Harper’s Bazaar, she was exposed to techno – this became a turning point in her career. She decided to abandon fashion to pursue music full-time. Fast forward to 2016… she’s now blowing up underground clubs worldwide and has three EPs to her name, her production blending influences from old school Chicago house to Detroit techno and acid house to African sounds.

  • Diana Gomez is a Venezuelan-born photographer and filmmaker based in London. Her passionate portraits, strong use of colour and fun narratives are her signatures. Having shot countless fashion and beauty editorials, she's also photographed celebs such as Rihanna and Taylor Swift.

She recently shot an editorial in London for Harper’s Bazaar Hong Kong’s September issue. The theme of the shoot is Girl Power - aside from featuring three fierce ladies, the shoot was styled by Karen Binns and the whole production team were women - this made for an unmistakable celebration of women, for women. The editorial is resplendent in print, colour and attitude – with strong styling that featured a lot of MISSY SKINS’ custom embroidered jewellery.

I spent a week in Tokyo trying to find the perfect vintage leather jacket - I dragged my brothers into every shop in Shimokitazawa. It was really hard because they were all huge and extremely heavy, so I ended up getting a repurposed one that I love.

My grandmother used to wear this big oversized leather jacket that was originally my great grandfather's. Till this day the smell of a leather jacket always reminds me of a cozy warm hug from my grandmother.

When my dad was in the early stages of dating my mom and wanted to look cool, he somehow wrangled a worn out, hand-me-down leather jacket and used shoe polish to make it look new. He showed up to her house and decided to sit down in their living room while he waited for her to get ready....on their family's pure white couch. Guess what happened when he got up!
